2025: key moments

  1. February

    Islamic Relief was invited to host a stall at the Buckingham Palace Humanitarian Reception, where our contribution to the British charity sector was recognised.

  2. March

    We joined with other members of the UK Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) to support survivors of a devastating earthquake in Myanmar.

  3. April

    The crisis in Sudan marked its second year, with no end in sight to the conflict. Islamic Relief reached more than 1.9 million people with life-saving support in Sudan in 2025.

  4. July

    The world marked 30 years since the Srebrenica Genocide. In a major campaign, we shared stories of survival and resilience from families still picking up the pieces of their lives — with support from Islamic Relief.

  5. September

    Islamic Relief and Qatar Charity signed a groundbreaking three-year agreement. Together, we will work on humanitarian and development interventions, as well as addressing challenges related to poverty and climate change.

  6. October

    October brought the grim milestone of two years of bombardment in Gaza. As another fragile ceasefire was agreed, we launched a major campaign to secure sponsorship for the more than 7,000 orphaned children on our waiting list in Gaza.

  7. November

    Among Islamic Relief’s key publications were our updated Climate Policy and a report on how community kitchens in Sudan have become a lifeline for people facing hunger. Our annual Global Reach, Impact and Learning Report analysed our programmes over the previous year.
